Heeeyyyyoooo! It’s Tuesday and you know what that means………my food filled (aka everyday) day via pictures—ya know, in case you care.
First off, I royally sucked at remembering to take a picture of something before I ate it.
See the blank space below this? Yeah, pretend you can see a Trader Joe’s pumpkin waffle there.
And the blank space below this? Maybe you can squint really hard and you’ll see the whole wheat pumpkin bread I ate on my way to the gym.
Alright, now that that’s over, here is what I drank on my way to the gym (blurry picture alert):
My fabulous new Vega pre-workout energizer! Love this stuff….tastes fab and gives me the perfect amount of energy I need for those early morning workouts. Plus, it’s all plant based
Following my workout, I refueled with a good ole’ protein shake:
Into my blender bottle went: milk, vanilla protein powder, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice.
For lunch before class, I assembled into a bowl: ground turkey, black beans, corn, cheese, greek yogurt, and salsa.
……….and obviously forgot to snap a picture before eating it. But hey, an empty bowl is better than nothin’! At least you know it was good
During class, I munched on some Trader Joe’s buffalo jerky.
I’ve never had buffalo jerky before but I eat buffalo allllll the time at work, so I gave it a try! Verdict: deeeeelish! Doesn’t taste much different than beef jerky.
Followed by an apple…….
APPLE SEASON IS HERE. I saw honeycrisps on sale at Trader Joe’s (how many times can I mention TJ’s in one post?) for $1.19. A DOLLAR NINETEEN. If you’ve ever paid for honeycrisps when it’s not apple season, then you would appreciate this. Unfortunately I didn’t get any because I already have 829 apples at home.
On my way home, I stopped in Trader Joe’s (here we go again) to pick up some tortellini to have for dinner. I walked out with these guys…..
I may have (aka definitely) nibbled (aka devoured) on one or two (aka three) of these cookies (aka crack) on my way home. THEY ARE SO GOOD….and so addicting. Betcha can’t just have one! The good news is, they actually don’t have too bad of stats (for cookies). Serving size is four of em’…..first ingredients is whole wheat flour, and they’re not insanely sugary or fattening (in comparison to most cookies). <—-My justification for the impulse buy.
And now….I have a sad story.
When I got home, I set out to make (well…boil) my tortellini….spinach tortellini to be exact. After cooking it all up, I portioned half of it onto my plate and topped it with some marinara.
I was all ready to eat…..
I went to put the lid back on the marinara jar and found this (blurry picture alert):
MOLD. Ugh! There’s nothing worse (nothing!) than making food and THEN realizing it’s infected (for lack of a better term). I was so bitter about this happening. I threw all the infected tortellini away and luckily I still had more in the pot. To make up for my loss, I covered the tortellini in cheese….because when in doubt, douse with cheese, right? Right.
Ended up being a pretty colorless dinner but the addition of cheese helped me cope with my sadness.
Adios internet, it’s time to go eat one more (aka two) of those friggin’ good cookies.
